Ozone steam: an 1840 discovery, working for your skin
Facial steaming is ancient — the Romans built entire bath houses around warm vapor for the skin. What makes a modern esthetic steamer special is ozone. Ozone (O₃) was discovered and named in 1840 by the German-Swiss chemist Christian Friedrich Schönbein, who noticed a distinctive sharp smell during electrical experiments — from the Greek ozein, “to smell.” Ozone is a natural purifier with antibacterial properties, which is why our steamer passes its vapor through an ozone element: the warmth softens the skin and opens pores while the ozone helps keep the surface clean and calm. It’s a gentle, comforting way to prime the skin for everything that follows.
