When skin has years of sun exposure, rough texture, dullness and early lines all at once, a single modality usually isn’t enough. Our Ultimate Resurfacing & Restorative Program is our most comprehensive corrective treatment, layering three professional technologies — diamond microdermabrasion, galvanic infusion and ultrasonic exfoliation — to resurface the skin’s surface and restore what’s underneath.
What happens during the treatment
- Analysis & cleanse — we assess texture, tone and sun damage under magnification.
- Diamond microdermabrasion — a diamond-tipped wand mechanically resurfaces dull, rough, sun-damaged skin.
- Ultrasonic exfoliation — high-speed vibration sweeps away loosened cells and impurities.
- Galvanic infusion — restorative, water-soluble actives are driven deeper into the freshly resurfaced skin.
- Mask, hydration & SPF — we calm, replenish and protect.
The technology — and the history behind it
Microdermabrasion: an Italian invention from 1985
Microdermabrasion was invented in Italy in 1985, when clinicians began using a stream of fine aluminum-oxide crystals to gently sand away the outermost layer of dead skin — a controlled, non-surgical way to resurface. It spread quickly because it delivered the smoothing, brightening benefits of resurfacing with almost no downtime. The technology later evolved into the diamond-tip version we use today: instead of loose crystals, a wand coated in natural diamond particles abrades the surface while gentle suction lifts away the debris. It’s cleaner, more precise, and easier to control around delicate areas.
Ultrasonic & galvanic: finishing the job
Once the surface is resurfaced, ultrasonic waves clear away what’s been loosened, and — using the galvanic principle first explored after Luigi Galvani’s 1780s discovery of bioelectricity — restorative actives are infused into skin that’s now primed to absorb them. You can see all three tools on our Treatment Room page.
What you’ll see after your treatment
Skin feels noticeably smoother right away, looks brighter, and reflects light more evenly — makeup glides on afterward. Because resurfacing also encourages fresh cell turnover, fine texture, superficial sun spots and dullness continue to improve in the days after. Mild pinkness is normal and short-lived.

Frequently asked questions
Is microdermabrasion painful or high-downtime?
No. It feels like a gritty massage with light suction. You may look slightly pink for an hour or two, but there’s no real downtime.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Intensity is fully adjustable, and we can scale back or skip resurfacing if your barrier is compromised. Tell us about any medications or recent procedures.
When should I avoid resurfacing?
Skip it if you have active breakouts in the area, sunburn, or are using prescription retinoids/Accutane. We’ll suggest a gentle alternative.
How soon will I see results?
Smoother, brighter skin immediately, with continued improvement over the following days as skin renews.
How often should I come in?
As a program at first, then maintenance every 4–6 weeks.
